'CHELITA COMO ME DUELE QUERERTE'
BACKGROUNDS
Chelita Como Me Duele Quererte is a Short Film directed by Luis Ponce Pinon and Riley S. Quinn. I had the pleasure of serving as Background Lead, using Luis's art direction as a guide for designing the environments and defining approach to layouts and paints. I lead a small team of artists to complete all 88 backgrounds, giving notes and drawovers as needed. Depicted below are a handful of my favorites of the backgrounds that I did from start to finish.
'OUT OF ORDER'
LAYOUTS
Short Film directed by Matt Buttafuoco and Nina Mallery. Depicted below are a handful of background layouts I completed for the film as well as some concept pieces I did to help define the visual aesthetic for the bar stage.
'JALOPY'
ENVIRONMENTS
Over the course of 10 weeks I worked with a team of three to create a pitch package for a concept development assignment. 'Jalopy' (story by Luis ponce Pinon) tells the story of Dani who runs away from home after the death of his grandfather. To his surprise, his fixer-upper car is haunted by the ghost of the girl it killed many years ago, Geraldine. Together they cross the country, checking off all the items on her bucket list so she can cross to the other side.

I worked primarily on the environments. The diner to the left is the first pit-stop on Dani and Geraldine's road trip, and below it is the concept for Dani's bedroom.
